Evita Salles is an active-duty U.S. Navy Commander with more than twenty years of diverse leadership experience spanning the military and private sector. She currently serves as an assistant professor at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., where she develops and mentors the next generation of strategic leaders.
Evita began her naval career in aviation before transitioning into public affairs and later human resources, where she built expertise in personnel management, policy, talent development, and organizational strategy. Prior to her military service, she worked in consumer lending, real estate, and marketing, giving her a broad perspective on leadership and people.
An accomplished public speaker, Evita has delivered a TEDx talk and continues to coach TEDx speakers, helping others share ideas that inspire change. She holds multiple master’s degrees and a doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University and is certified as both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
Passionate about empowering others to reach their fullest potential, Evita also serves as a mentor to Penn State students in the College of the Liberal Arts. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, writing, freediving, and spending time with her family.
