3/17/21 – Penn State will host in-person commencement ceremonies in May to mark the class of 2021’s completion of their academic experience and to recognize their many accomplishments. The College of the Liberal Arts' commencement ceremony will take place in Beaver Stadium, rain or shine, at 1:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, May 9.
For the in-person commencement ceremony, there will be a limit of two guests per graduate to support physical distancing, seating accommodations, and stage placement. Tickets will be required for all attending graduates and guests, and graduates will be required to register for the tickets via email in late March.
To adjust for protocols that protect the health and safety of students, guests, and employees in attendance, graduates will NOT be called upon to walk across the stage. Instead, each graduate's name, degree, and major will be featured on a video board. The in-person commencement ceremony will also be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend.
In addition, Penn State will host a University-wide virtual commencement ceremony at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, May 9, celebrating all undergraduate and graduate Commonwealth Campus, University Park, and World Campus students. For more information about spring 2021 commencement, including frequently asked questions and guidance on tickets, seating and more, visit commencement.psu.edu.
