Give us a brief summary of your experience?

In Paris, I took two courses (a seminar and a French course), and had a full-time internship. It was a really rewarding experience to meet co-workers from another country and continue to stay in touch with them after my study abroad ended.

How did this experience impact you academically?

This experience definitely improved my language skills as well as general communication skills in a work environment. I learned how to work for a corporate company in a different country and how communication and business is conducted on a daily basis.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This study abroad has impacted my future career goals in the aspect of applying for careers and graduate programs when I graduate this spring 2023. During all of my interviews or any questions about past experience, I try to circle back to how my internship in Paris makes me an amazing candidate.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

I received enrichment funding from the College of Liberal Arts for my tuition, which helped me and my family financially prepare for my study abroad. Dr. McCoy in the French Department also helped a ton, through emails and office hours, and I would not have been where I am now without her!
