Give us a brief summary of your experience?

I spent my summer observing law practice in a mid-size law firm in NYC. Most of my work was focused on doing research, handling paperwork, helping attorneys with projects, and learning about daily affairs in the legal field. As part of my role to prepare for my future career, I completed tasks given to me by attorneys in different fields.

How did this experience impact you academically?

This experience impacted me academically, including activities I will focus on in my future academic career, specifically legal research. My experience had a lot of experiential learning, which applies to the educational setting as the skills I relied on were analyzing and digesting information and applying it to different scenarios.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience will impact my career goals as it aids my ability to network and have valuable experience for future internships or jobs. The skills needed will likely be the same for all legal internships/jobs.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

The College of the Liberal Arts helped me to succeed in this experience with enrichment funds, which contributed to my travel costs and ability to purchase business attire to wear for my internship.
