Give us a brief summary of your experience?

My experience with Boalsburg Heritage Museum has been very helpful. I worked with various different aspects of the museum, whether it be social media promotion, working with artifacts, or helping with events. I met amazing people and gained a passion for museum work. This internship showed me what I want to do in my career and crafted connections for me to get there.

How did this experience impact you academically?

I learned how to multitask and stay motivated during projects as well as how to put up installations with artifacts. I learned how to use my knowledge of history in conjunction with hands-on tasks and promotional efforts.

"I learned how to use my knowledge of history in conjunction with hands-on tasks and promotional efforts."

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience made me appreciate museums and the work they do even more. I did not know exactly what field I wanted to go into after Penn State, but now with the experience and connections I have, I know I want to be a Museum Curator one day.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

The College of the Liberal Arts helped me financially through enrichment funds to be able to travel to and from my internship. The College also gave me the support to keep at my internship and stay motivated.
