Give us a brief summary of your experience?

During the summer of 2021, I was a real estate intern for New York Habitat located in New York City. Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, this internship was virtual. I was responsible for updating the availabilities and prices of New York apartments, making calls to apartment owners to ensure all the information regarding their apartment was accurate, and helped international clientele through the company's chat and by phone.

How did this experience impact you academically?

This internship impacted me academically by keeping me more organized and helping my communication skills. I had to stick to a strict schedule each day and made sure all the databases and Excel sheets were organized and had no errors. My communication skills strengthened this summer by having meetings every day where I would give reports and talk to staff members to see how I could assist them.

"This experience will impact my career goals because I gained crucial knowledge that will assist me in the real estate industry."

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience will impact my career goals because I gained crucial knowledge that will assist me in the real estate industry. This internship was a great way to get my feet wet in the real estate world by learning what goes on behind the scenes and how everything has to be precise.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

It has helped me succeed in this experience by working well in a team environment and knowing how to deal with others emotions and thoughts.
