Chapel Executive Intern
What was the best part of your experience?
The best part of my experience was being able to contribute to my case on a daily basis. Bates White utilizes a horizontal structure on each case, and, while there are managers supervising the project's progress, my ideas as a summer intern were valued.
This experience opened my eyes to the excitement of data analysis, particularly in anti-trust litigation cases
How did this experience impact you academically?
This experience taught me new quantitative research methods. We often found our own datasets and had to identify variables that added value to our case. This skill will help me in my classes and writing my senior thesis.
How will this experience impact your career goals?
This experience opened my eyes to the excitement of data analysis, particularly in anti-trust litigation cases. Using data analysis to illustrate a defendant's behavior was both exciting and interesting. I'm looking forward to exploring other applications of data analysis in the future.
How has the Paterno Fellows Program had an impact on this experience?
The Paterno Fellows Program pushed me to take courses that laid the foundation for my interest in data analysis. Had it not been for PFP, I would have never taken PLSC 309H, quantitative political analysis. This course was my first exposure to data analysis and truly altered my career path.
