What was the best part of your experience?

This experience allowed me to contextualize Human Resource practices beyond the constructs of a classroom. Every company we had the opportunity to meet reinforced the texts that we had studied the weeks leading up to our excursion, and in doing so, this showed that there are many nuances in the Human Resource practices of companies within Silicon Valley.

This experience has undoubtedly piqued my interest in the Human Resource practices of tech companies.

How did this experience impact you academically?

This course/experience stands tribute to the high level of academics that Penn State provides to its students. After studying various companies and constructs within the Silicon Valley for an entire 7 weeks prior to our trip, I felt confident when conversing with HR executives. This course has sparked in me a great interest in Human Resource practices in the tech industry, and I hope to take more courses aimed at this interest.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience has undoubtedly piqued my interest in the Human Resource practices of tech companies. In doing so I hope to one day find job placement at a tech company in either Silicon Valley or Austin, Texas.
