How did you learn about this opportunity?

I learned about the enrichment funds opportunity through an email from the College of the Liberal Arts making me aware of funding opportunities.

Tell us a little bit about your experience.

I had an amazing time during my internship. Although it was a substantial time commitment on my part, I honestly believe it not only helped me find a job (which I'm glad to report I was able to use some of my experiences from this internship in my interview), but also made me a more confident and thoughtful person. I highly recommend finding an internship to participate in if you are able to.

"If you are able to incorporate things you're doing in your internship into your class work and vice versa, it is very enriching."

How did this experience impact you academically?

Although my internship did take away some of my free time, I don't think it impacted my academics negatively. I believe that stretching yourself out helps you build better time management skills, which is a crucial skill. Additionally, if you are able to incorporate things you're doing in your internship into your class work and vice versa, it is very enriching.

What are your career goals and plans?  How did this experience impact them?

My internship helped me better understand what tasks I do enjoy working on and which ones I don't. That way, when I was job searching, I already had an idea of what I wanted to do. I think internships really help you prepare for a job. I just accepted an offer for a job working in business, and I think my communications internship really prepped me for my interview.

Would you recommend this experience to other Liberal Arts students?

I definitely would. I think everyone would benefit from some kind of internship, and you should use the resources here to find one, either during a semester or summer.
