Career Resources for Industry, Government, and Other Non-Academic Careers

The goal of the graduate career diversity initiative is to provide resources and education to graduate students and faculty in the College of the Liberal Arts about non-academic career opportunities, how to prepare for them, and factors to consider when looking for non-academic jobs. Graduate education can prepare you for many different career paths—towards research jobs, teaching jobs, government jobs, jobs in non-profit organizations, or private-sector jobs. All of these are valuable. Your faculty are great resources for information about career paths in academia. This website is built to shed light on career options outside of academia, providing an additional resource for you to draw on as you consider options and consult with your advisers about what to do after you get your degree.
