Outstanding Young Liberal Arts Alumnus Award

Michael A. Pizzano (’03 Crime, Law, and Justice) is CEO of Kindred Hospital of New Jersey-Morris County.  Kindred-Morris County recently enjoyed one of its best years ever in terms of quality, efficiency, and growth—feats that earned Michael the Morris County Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Leader in Business Award.

Michael previously spent 11 years with Atlantic Health System, where he rose through the ranks to become administrative manager of Atlantic’s air and ground medical transportation corporation.  Michael received Atlantic’s Corporate Employee of the Year Award in 2008; he also received the Six Sigma Presidents Award in 2012 and was a five-time finalist for New Jersey EMS Manager of the Year.

Michael holds a master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He currently chairs the New Jersey Board of the American Lung Association and is an adjunct professor at the College of St. Elizabeth’s and at Centenary University.  Michael remains connected to Penn State as a Liberal Arts Mentor, Alumni Admissions Volunteer, and LionLink Coach.
