Q: What are some of the thoughts you had going into the program?

I was unsure what to expect but hoped to gain some guidance and life advice!

Q: “How has your mentoring experience benefitted your academic/ professional life?”

My mentor Joel has connected me with so many people in his network, that even though my career path has changed from my original intentions, I’ve gained so much because he was willing to provide me with connections he knew I could identify with.

Q: What would you say to students about why they should participate?

It is a great opportunity and they should get involved, if not only for the benefit of meeting new people, but to also increase the network they’re already developing.

Q: What are your career goals and plans---and how has your mentorship influenced them?

Right now I’m looking into going to Africa for a few months after graduation in May. I am currently considering an opportunity that I’ve been offered to live in a house with undergraduate students as a live-in mentor for a year to help coach them through the process of starting their own initiatives to create a better world.

Find out how you can become a mentor.
