What enrichment activities did you participate in as a student?
I worked as a marketing assistant and fitness consultant for a private gym while pursuing my undergraduate degrees.
What was your first job after graduating from Penn State?
My first job after graduating was as an operations assistant for Virgin Active Australia and the role was based in Sydney, Australia.
What was your favorite class and who was your favorite faculty member?
Abnormal Psychology classes with Brian Crosby were real highlights.
How did your liberal arts education and skills prepare you for life after graduation?
My background in sociology and psychology prepared me to think critically about how people make decisions and taught me how to identify, dissect, and quantify the various influencing factors. This way of thinking has helped me find success in my professional life in brand management.
What networking advice would you share with current students?
Networking does not come naturally to me by any means, and I probably under-networked as an undergrad. My advice is to focus on building meaningful relationships early on and to broaden your network as much as possible by getting involved in different activities, opportunities, and societies.
What role have mentors played in your career progression?
Mentors have played a significant role in my career progression by providing insights, guidance, and by pushing me to pursue opportunities I otherwise would not have known about or not had the confidence to pursue.
