What enrichment activities did you participate in as a student?

I completed an analytics internship at a digital ad agency (unpaid, but I received funding from the College of the Liberal Arts to help make it viable). I completed a business analyst internship at Nestle Purina in St. Louis, Missouri. I worked at a startup on campus through Happy Valley Launchbox. I tutored in both finance and economics for student athletes.

What was your first job after graduating from Penn State?

After graduation, I worked as a business technology analyst for Deloitte Consulting.

What were your favorite classes?

I really enjoyed high-level economics classes such as the Economics of Multinational Corporations, International Trade Economics, and Economics of the Financial Crisis. I also enjoyed Entrepreneurship, Acting, and other classes.

How did your liberal arts education and skills prepare you for life after graduation?

I have blended an ability to communicate effectively with knowledge of technology, finance, and economics, which has served me well.

What networking advice would you share with current students?

I was matched with a mentor through the College of the Liberal Arts, who helped me immensely. I also connected with a future mentor at an alumni event. I made many efforts to network on my own, which helped my career trajectory.

What role have mentors played in your career progression?

My mentors have provided invaluable insight, coaching, support, and tactical help when applying to jobs.
