What enrichment activities did you participate in as a student?

As a student, I was an officer in the Psychology Honors Society. I also worked part time.

What was your first job after graduating from Penn State?

I was a Human Resources Management Trainee for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It was a twelve-month training program, after which I became a human resource analyst for the Department of Corrections. While working full time in human resources, I went to law school. I graduated in 2009 and joined my firm, McNees, as a labor and employment attorney.

What was your favorite class?

Abnormal Psychology 

How did your liberal arts education and skills prepare you for life after graduation?

A liberal arts education offers unique skills to prepare you for just about any position. You learn a lot about people, and successfully interacting with people is an important part of any career.

What networking advice would you share with current students?

Networking is necessary to establishing and advancing a career.

What role have mentors played in your career progression?

Mentors have helped me develop successful professional skills, opened doors for me and guided my career choices. Mentors make great friends and help you make better informed decisions.
