Advising

As a unit of the College of the Liberal Arts, Liberal Arts Undergraduate Advising collaborates with students to design academic plans that incorporate their academic, career, and personal goals while meeting the standards of the undergraduate degree and providing a framework upon which students can develop intellectually, socially, and professionally.

Advisers in the College of the Liberal Arts partner with you to plan and realize academic, personal, and career goals.  They help keep you on track toward your degree and work with you to navigate co-curricular opportunities.

The Undergraduate Advising Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students will prepare for advising appointments
  2. Students can interpret academic planning support materials (such as the degree audit, recommended academic plans, bulletin, departmental check-sheets, websites)
  3. Students understand policies and procedures
  4. Students will appropriately self advocate
  5. Student understands the distinction between the elements of the degree
  6. Students understand the relationship between their classroom experiences and academic, career and personal goals
  7. Students will make intentional decisions about completion of the General Education curriculum that are tailored to their individual academic, career and personal goals
  8. Students will include experiences outside the classroom in their educational plans
