Internships have become a crucial step in students’ development and often are essential to landing first jobs. Not only do they provide valuable work experience, they also allow students to explore career options and discover their personal strengths. During these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to reach out to other alums, parents and friends of Penn State in order to identify potential positions. We know what Penn State did for us, and now it is our turn to lend a hand in the transition to the real world for current undergraduates. They unquestionably need our help to remain competitive in the current tough job market.
All of us who have been fortunate enough to attend or otherwise be associated with Penn State fully understand the talents and potential of our students and the quality of the education they receive. They are well prepared to step into internships and begin contributing immediately. The College of the Liberal Arts has a number of programs to identify and work with high-achieving students, including the Mentor Program and the Paterno Liberal Arts Undergraduate Fellows Program. Students are highly motivated to secure internships and are eager to meet the ensuing challenges.
